Alfred University's SPECTRUM
The Gay Life at Alfred

Alfred Village was one of the first communities in the country to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation. AU offers: Gender Issues, Gay History and Gay/Lesbian Literature as classes. Many members of our faculty have taken part in the Safe Zones training program and provide their offices as safe-zones for GLBTQ students. If you like to go clubbing there are several places less than 2 hours away and Spectrum's big dance party, GLAM SLAM twice a year.

Organization Purpose

Spectrum provides a social and political atmosphere for Alfred's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered students. We meet once a week and organize social activities, share experiences, take trips and build political agendas.
